Simon oversees both the business operations of Fire Door Experts Ltd and the sister company BWC Ltd, where he became a Director in 2014. He joined the family business in 2013 taking over from his father Steve; as a result Simon brought in fresh ideas, new customers and rebranded the BWC business.
Prior to joining the family business, Simon spent 15 years working in the city of London for various investment banks, proprietary trading firms and brokerages whereby he specialised in equity index derivatives.
Simon has a BTEC National Diploma in Building Studies and also holds a BSc Hons in Construction Management from the University of Salford.
Steve started our sister company BWC Ltd over 30 years ago and having never advertised, built a strong standing, organised, highly professional and respected commercial construction business with a strong emphasis on our quality and timeliness of our work. This has grown to what is today a niche fit out firm with a strong client list of global main contractors, blue chip managing agents, property asset managers, institutions, associations, and private high net worth individuals. Steve’s extensive wealth of experience and industry contacts provides an essential role in the back ground running of both BWC and FDE.

Blaine has been contracting with the BWC family business for over 15 years and he oversees each of our projects on a day to day basis. Blaine is a master carpenter and has a wealth of knowledge in experience with both fire doors and all carpentry and joinery aspects. His technical expertise and product knowledge provides a crucial role for solving any project specific and site issues and his role is highly visible and often client facing. Blaine has an NVQ Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery and is SSSTS and SMSTS trained. He passed the Fire Door Inspection Scheme Diploma (December 2016) with a pass mark of 100%, and is a BM Trada Approved Trainer on the Installation of and Maintenance of Fire Doors, with a pass mark 96%.
Paul commenced his carpentry career as a sixteen-year-old apprentice working for John Laing Partnership. Upon completing his apprenticeship, he began contracting as a carpenter with BWC Ltd. Paul, along with Adi, specialises in supervising fire door installation and maintenance projects at site level, which involves leading the site teams, calling off door sets and ironmongery, and solving site specific issues. Paul has an NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery, and is SSSTS, IPAF and Advanced PASMA trained.
Adi has over 10 years of experience as a carpenter and first contracted with the company when he was 21. He specialised in fire compartmentalisation including fire walls / ceilings and doors, dry lining and partitioning. Adi has a level 2 NVQ in Carpentry and Joinery and is both SSSTS and Advanced PASMA trained.
