The training provides our dedicated skilled team with the tools to install and maintain fire doors effectively and confidently. All suitably qualified and certified members demonstrate competence in the installation of fire doors ensuring the products fire resistance capabilities are maintained to the highest level.
The course also warrants installers with a high quality of installation work enabling confidence in meeting fire resistance requirements. This provides all our installers with a clear commitment to any project and loyalty to our customers.
Construction Line is a register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants used by the construction industry of the UK. It is a Government-run scheme, which collects, assesses and monitors standard company information ranging from health and safety documentation, company finances and training policies.
This due diligence process and information is accessed by over 2000 organisations, which demonstrates a contractor’s ability to pre-qualify for projects by becoming members of Construction Line.
BM Trada: Q-Mark Certification Scheme
BM Trada is a UK based, international certification body accredited by major accreditation bodies such as UKAS. Their widely recognised Q-Mark Scheme for maintenance and installation of fire doors demonstrates each accredited member’s ability to supply, install and maintain fire doors to the Q-Mark schemes exacting quality standards.
Each certified member is subjected to both a rigorous initial vetting process and regular on-going checks to ensure that the quality of their work continues to meet the standards of the scheme. Their Q-Mark Scheme raises awareness of Fire Door installation, ensure the product’s fire resistance capabilities are maintained, provides peace of mind that the installer is suitably qualified and that their work is continually assessed by an independent body and equips specifiers with the means to demonstrate that the installation meets the required standard.
Their Q-Mark Fire Door maintenance ensures that participants are suitably qualified to carry out maintenance work to a standard that will allow the door to continue to perform as required and providing peace of mind that the contractor is consistently delivering a quality service through independent verification by a third party certification body.
Fire Door Inspection Scheme
FDIS is Europe’s first fire door inspection scheme, created to increase all relevant responsible persons knowledge and understanding about the critical purpose and function of fire doors. They aim to transform people’s knowledge about how and why fire doors work and the potential dangers of getting it wrong.
FDIS also help improve safety and save lives through online training programmes and resources plus give their expert advice to help property owners and building managers meet their fire door safety legal obligations. They provide training, support and guidance for anyone interested in fire door safety.
The Guild of Master Craftsmen
The Guild represents over 400 different crafts, trades and professions, promoting and supporting excellence. It provides consumers with a database of skilled and reputable professionals who are masters of their particular trade. BWC Ltd became members of the Guild in 2013.
Our most recent accreditation comes from CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme). The CHAS health and safety assessment scheme is a pre-approval scheme to allow contractors to show potential clients that they meet the required health and safety standards.
